About
Why?
I’ve been missing Ben’s World of Transformers since it was taken offline a few months ago. I found that site over a decade ago, back when I was a wee lad running my first website on Geocities. I picked a few tips up from Mr. Yee (and some images, but I’d like to think I know better than that these days than I did back when I was 10), and learned a lot from his site. My favourite part of his site was the reviews, since it gave me a chance to see what the figures I’d never own were like. I can’t imagine that I’m the only one that enjoyed the reviews, so now I’m taking a crack at doing it myself. Maybe someone out there will enjoy it, or maybe it’ll just be an excuse for me to dust off my toys and play with them all some more. Maybe it’ll just end up an excuse to go toy hunting. Who knows?
My apologies, Mr. Yee. You and your site are missed, at least up this way.
When?
I’m trying to update as often as I can. I’ve got a fair number of toys around the house (or other people’s houses), so I shouldn’t run out of figures to review for a while unless I get really productive. Once I’ve done every figure I’ve got, toy reviews will go up when I buy new toys.
Who?
Just some guy in Canada. This site is about the Transformers, why would you expect me to have much information on some silly human?
And really, what kind of 22 year old still plays with toy cars, eh?
Oh, right.
Guest reviewers are always welcome. It never hurts to have a second opinion.
What is Take Your Transformer to Work Day?
I try to bring a different toy to sit on my desk once a week, usually Friday or Monday. It keeps my desk from looking too boring (i.e., tidy, professional, etc.) and seems to amuse my co-workers. So far, none of them have been broken or lost [knock on wood].
Why no pictures?
Because I haven’t got around to building a proper setup for it. I’m hoping to build a macro photo studio using Strobist’s tutorial, but haven’t had time to go looking for proper materials. Blogging I can do from anywhere, but setting that up will require being at home, and keeping the little protoform from tearing it to bits.
June 23 2008 UPDATE: I’ve got a couple of pictures that turned out decently. Now it’s just a matter of getting enough quiet time to take more!
